I needed to replace the dead backup alarm on my commercial trailer, I ordered the YUESONIC Backup Alarm as it looked the same size and would be a plug and play installation. The YUESONIC Backup Alarm meets or exceeds all DOT requirements. It is extremely loud when you are reversing in operation, there is no doubt anyone nearby will safely hear the alarm. This is a very inexpensive device to reduce operator liability when reversing in long or LowBoy trailer environments, especially on Job Sites. I have installed a second YUESONIC Backup Alarm, that is selectable by a switch in the cab of my Truck for added safety. The trailer backup alarm operates on 12V where my tractor uses a 24V system for the Backup Alarm, both continue to function properly with no issues.

This beeper, to my surprise, is far better built than the one I had got locally. It's fully sealed with epoxy, uses some sort of GF plastic which is fantastic as it will not crack or become brittle when exposed to the sun for long periods of time, and is loud. I like that there is an adjustment knob to adjust the volume of the beeper which can be useful in certain situations.

Love that this automatically adjusts to input voltage (12-24 volts). There is a switch selector on the back where you can manually select the dB level - 87, 92, 97, and 102 bB. The 102 is quite loud…like a garbage truck backing up! You could install this on really any vehicle. Operating temperature is -40 to 85 degrees Celsius so it’s good for a variety of harsh temperature conditions.I like this for backing up in our driveway and while out at other people’s homes, parking lots, and public places like the beach. I am always concerned about children playing or hiding behind my truck. This will be perfect for alerting others that I am preparing to back up! It’s plenty loud enough that it will get everyone’s attention, including young children’s attention. The only thing that I’m concerned about is if it’s water proof and especially with road salt mixed in, as I’m planning to locate it on the rear exterior…right beside the license plate. I tried to search the product page but it makes no mention if it’s water resistant or if it can hold up to being located on the exterior of a vehicle, especially in wet locations where road salt is applied in the winter. I guess time will tell?I think it might be better if it came with a thin water proof silicon case that could be installed overtop with water proof speaker mesh over the speaker area. I feel like the constant coating of road salt and wet road spray conditions at the rear of the vehicle will shorten it's life? I removed one start as i'd like to see that it's 100% waterproof or have a water proof membrane included.

I was expecting a hassle to set this up, but it was really quite easy! I went to test it first on the bench and it was quite startling since it is fairly loud. Assuming you have a spot to place this that it fits, then you should be good to go! It seems like itll be fairly resistant to the elements, but id shelter it a little regardless

The unit is loud as advertised, I don't have a db measuring tool but it's just loud enough indoors for your ears to twitch. It has 4 settings in the back for loudness (0 is loudest, 3 is loud but doesn't hurt).It also does the ~1s beep, 1s off pattern like a truck would. It might get drowned out in loud construction but it's definitely audible throughout a house.
