This switch works very smoothly, easy to wire and is a good value. I'd advise taking a picture of old switch before removing wires. This will ensure you rewire new switch observing color code. The new switch has a "V" groove indicating the direction of insertion for wires. You'll need to insert a small jeweler's screwdriver or something similar to remove old wires from defective switch. YouTube may help guide you with this process. A good DIYer with electrical skills should have no problem installing the new switch. It's not that difficult. Please make sure power is off leading to fan before you begin working on fan. Safety first.

The switch works as expected. One thing I would caution people about though, which isn’t specific to this switch, but applies to all 3-speed pull chain fan switches, is that they are not all the same electrically. This wasn’t apparent to me in the online descriptions, or in any of the YouTube videos that I watched prior to ordering the switch. But by checking electrical continuity of the new switch (with a multimeter) in all 4 positions (Off, high speed, medium speed, and low speed) and also checking electrical continuity of the old switch (and double checking those results by disassembling the old switch and observing its operation mechanically), I figured out that the AC input to the “L” terminal (shown on the Wire Installation Guide on the Amazon webpage for the switch) goes to both output terminals 2 and 3 in the medium speed position. (“L-1” is high speed, “L-1-2” is medium speed, and “L-3” is low speed.) So this switch matched my old switch electrically, but I also ordered another switch of a slightly different physical design, because I wasn’t sure which one would be easiest to install, and after I checked it electrically, it turned out that that switch didn’t match my old switch electrically. The difference is that the input to “L” only goes to output terminal 2 in the medium speed position. (For both switches, “L” goes to 1 in the high-speed position, and goes to 3 in the low-speed position.) However, I’m pretty sure that that switch would still work if I had to use it, but it would only have 2 speeds. The medium-speed position and the low-speed position would turn the fan at the same speed, either medium speed or low speed (I don’t know which).

Good value. I used this switch on a large floor fan. Works great.

I own multiple identical Hunter ceiling fans in my home that I installed back in the mid 90's. The fan switch on one of them had the chain come out of the switch when it was pulled on. I shopped and could not even find a fan closely resembling the one I had and did not want to replace all of the fans. Finally I looked at YouTube for a solution and found out that most fan switches are interchangeable. I then came to Amazon and found this switch saying it fit Hunter and multiple other brands and ordered it. This is an easy fix under an hour for one who has any experience doing basic home repairs. Turn off the power drop the light fixture down and switch them out. Couple of tips, Take a picture of the wires on the old switch before removing them. The wires probably wont pull out of the old switch. Either cut the wires and re-strip them or like I did, stick a small Flathead screwdriver in the old switch and pry it apart. I broke the old switch apart to get the wires out. Once I was able to pull the wires I pulled them one at a time and put them in the same place on the new switch. I am sitting under the fan once again working as I type this. If I didn't explain it good enough there are multiple videos on YouTube showing how to install this switch.

15 year old ceiling fan cord was not working properly and bf was thinking we would need to replace the fan…. He took the ceiling fan apart and I took a pic of the part on the Amazon app and was able to find the part ❣️
