This fixed a problem I have been battling for years with my truck. I had insulated the wire from the alternator and that worked for a long time, but when the problem returned it was worse than ever and it tripped a code. The code was for the throttle positioning sensor, but it didn't have symptoms related to that. I watched a video online that said to remove the air cleaner box and disconnect the modules to install the isolator. When I looked for the correct wire to tap I found it without doing any of that and had this installed in under two minutes. I couldn't help thinking this was way to easy to work. When I test drove my truck (a 2000 Dodge) I drove it between 40 and 45 mph for twenty miles and it ran perfectly with no problem from the transmission. The check engine light was still on so I turned the truck off and restarted it. The check engine light went off and has not come back on. This was a miracle fix, cheap, easy, and effective!

Worked perfectly on our 1999 Dodge Ram 3500 4x4 Diesel truck! We also have a 3/4 ton same year truck and we had already done all the fixes like this noise isolator and the wrapping of the alternator line with tin foil trick. This 1 ton truck we bought used and we have begun to have the common noise(electrical noise) that interrupts the shifting pattern of the truck and causes it to surge and search for the proper gear. Very annoying and I'm sure not good on the tranny. If you are having transmission problems don't let a Transmission shop tell you that you need an overhaul or new solenoids. Try this trick and the tin foil trick first(found on some of the popular diesel forums, search google) and make sure you clean your negative grounds well on your batteries as well. This was a 5 minute fix installing this noise isolator from BD Diesel. Very easy to do and will most likely solve those searching issues.I purchased this item full price. My opinions are my own and I was not compensated in any way for my thoughts.

Was having shifting issues on a 2001 Dodge 3500 automatic around 40 - 45 mph, would kind of slip and hesitate into gear, part was delivered to me in couple days. What a difference, shifts like new!!Easy instructions, took the advise of reviews , watched videos and decided to solder and hard wire to PCM wire rather than use the supplied connector, avoid slicing the wire completely as others have stated. Voided any warranty there was on this product but will take the chance as an experienced engineer. The supplied connector has a needle that punctures the wire to grab contact, may work for others I don't know. I personally would rather leave PCM wire alone and expose the wire with wire strippers. Just applied solder and attached the new wire. Better current flow and if ever broke off the original PCM wire is still intact and cannot separate or malfunction. Worked for me, shift points between gears are more precise, slight increase in mpg! Definitely recommend before calling a transmission shop $$

This set up is incredibly simple to use and they provide a link to watch a video on how to install the product in your specific vehicle since this works on a few different trucks, once installed this completely solved my shifting issues, not just overdrive but every single shift is smoother now. This product it self is easy to use and takes maybe 5-10 min to install. the wires thickness is good meaning it’s a higher gauge wire that helps improve this devices function. Overall it’s a very simple easy and fast item to install and the results are instant.

This noise isolator definitely does the job, but I'd recommend another method to attach this to the appropriate wire out of your PCM. I installed per the directions, drove the truck, and was mortified when the torque converter stopped engaging entirely.I called BD Diesel for support. The guy a spoke with wasn't especially friendly and dismissed the issue, but someone in the background heard our discussion and said that yes, the tap has been known to split the wire.I removed the tap, stripped the wires, and attached them with a twist on wire connector. I wrapped this well using electrical tape, and voila...the torque converter works like a charm. No more cycling at cruise speeds. Now a final consideration: I'd read that this only covers up more significant problems, particularly with your alternator. I went ahead and replaced my alternator at the same time. It's an easy job on our 5.9s, taking less than 45 minutes (could have been 15 if I'd known how to properly place leverage on the tensioner pulley). So I'd recommend starting there before you install this noise isolator. A new alternator can be had for less than $100. I figured that having both the new alternator and noise isolator was really covering my bases. In any case, toss the tap. Splice the wires and do it properly. It will save you a lot of potential headache.

My only beef with this product is the part that splice into the truck wiring, are quite flimsy made of plastic. But it did work fine.
