No issues yet. Seems to open and close fine.

The unit was too light weight for even the smallest lift .

For a product that advertises itself as "sturdy," "stable" and "durable" that "can carry heavy measuring instruments" this stand is highly disappointing. It is rather flimsy. The "Aluminum Alloy" platform is barely 1/16" thick, will probably arrive bent in a few places like mine was, but is so flimsy can many of the bends out with your fingers. It does "work" in that if you turn the screw the platform raises and lowers, although you are going to have to file the sharp edges off the elevation knob as well.

Not very high quality. But very cheap.

I ordered this to use for fine height adjustments with a laser level when my needed measurements were lower than a standard tripod would accomodate. The size worked perfectly. However, it is not at all rigid. Front to back and side to side movement of the top is probably 1/8" or more. Quite wobbly. Those tolerances were far too great for my intended use, so I cut some strips of wood to fit in between the top and bottom on the sides to get my desired height then cranked the top down tight. At that point it made a solid platform, but it is not adjustable. So, if you need a precise platform, this is not it. For a use that only needs to raise and lower something to approximate height, this will likely work OK.

The top and bottom plates were both warped causing it to rock and be unstable when set on a hard surface. Not a huge issue for me as I 3d designed & printed replacement plates for my specific needs.
