I originally bought this for my kids saxophone, but she ended up not needing it. I almost tossed it but so glad I didn't. This thing is the best for cleaning the Roomba base shoot without disasembling the tube from below! You just take out the bag, drop this into the tube, and kind of shake it to come out (see picture). Then pull through and voila!

I've been using this swab on an alto sax for about 6 months. The build quality is great, but it kept getting snagged inside the horn on a post near the tenon. It's a very tight fit there, and more than once had to dig the swab out of the horn. Works fine if you remove the bristles.

Large surface area (8"x8"). 44" flat cord heavily weighted. Brush compresses easily and swab glides through instrument.

With the combination of size of the material swatch and the diameter of the brush bristles, you get good coverage from the bell to the top of the body. Nice long weighted string too. I have used sax swabs in the past that used brush bristle and a swatch of chamois type of swabs. They always seemed to tilt sideways and do a less than effective job. NOT this swab. The multi rows of bristles cures this problem. If and when this wears out, I'll want to get another one of these.
