Worked like a charm for removing 3/8ths upper/lower transmission cooler lines on an 07 Suburban 5.3l 4x4. Literally pops the clips a loose so that you can pull the lines right on out. It can be done with a pick but this made the job 10 times easier and quicker. You just lock the ring around the cooler line, push it in and turn counterclockwise at the same time. You’ll hear the clip pop, then pull. It’s not going to come out easy, you must use some force to pull the lines out. I’ve done this in the past with picks and it’s a pain. This made the job way more efficient in all aspects. Highly recommend! FYI the clips stay inside of the fitting unless you decide to pull the clip(s) all the way out, making the searching for sprung clips old news. Did I forget to mention this little 16 dollar device (got it used for $10) saved me about a band ($1000) and a trip to the stealership? Well, I just did. Works on the Chevy 3/8ths cooler line done right. All in all it’s a great value. The item is sturdy and didn’t break while disconnecting the four ends of the two cooler lines.

When I went to put this tool around the tubing, it would not fit properly as it would not fully encircle the tubing. Upon inspection, I found the all four tools of the set had a slight shoulder inside each one, not allowing the tool to close completely which would grab onto the tubing and prevent the tool from working as designed. I had to take a round file to each one and file the shoulder down to allow the tool to work properly.

These work great on GM transmission quick disconnect lines. Allowing you to keep the clip in the line whenever your removing them or reinstalling the line.

UNBELEIVABLE, Truly a remarkable product. If Amazon could rate 10 stars i totally would just because the ease of these tool and how quite it makes it to remove something SUCH A PAIN in the A$@ because you cannot get to it or your fitting with a pick and drop the little tiny C-Clip and your swearing because you dropped it and cannot find it. WELL this is the tool to fix that. I work for GM and replace cooler lines and transmission lines ALL the time and fault with MANY MANY of them before buying this tool. This tool is like 3 steps. 1. Open up and insert on to the line and push in to spread the tabs 2. Pull the line out (leaving the clip in place 3. Put the new line in and remove the tool. Done and your happy you never lost the clip. Trust me, i have lost dozens of them and spent an hour looking for one and never did find it. This tool saved my bacon so many times as it's just an all around great tool and would most certainly recommend even for the DIYer. It can be done without it but why fight with it and in my world time is money.
