I received my parts today and went to install and the threads for the screws where all smooth no threads for screws to go into.

These are a substantial upgrade from the stock plastic driveshafts. If you've added weight or power to your Ascent 18, then these are a must-have. Unfortunately, the socket cap screws take very little pressure before they start to round out. This was experienced with the supplid Allen key as well as a Husky ball-end wrench that I tried.

The stock drive-shafts are light and spin freely but they will twist and sometimes break if you get your Ascent18 in a tight spot. These driveshafts have a nice brushed finish that looks great and the overall quality is excellent. The brass pivots are a nice touch and being softer than the surrounding metal, they make for very smooth operation (use a 'dry lube' here). They are heavier then the stock shafts but spin freely and are a big improvement in strength and durability. In tight spots, they eliminate twisting and transfer more energy to the diff (ring and pinion), making it easier to get out of trouble. Overall, very happy with their performance and increase in strength!
