I don't know what more I can add than that! I purchased these because there have been some break-ins in our area lately. I thought about getting a yardstick or a ruler or something to block the window from opening, but these were honestly the cheapest and easiest solution. They work perfectly, and now we have peace of mind. Even if I did buy a ruler or a yardstick or a dowel, it would have been significantly more expensive. Can't beat that price!

Very simple way to improve home security - I live in an old rental apartment where some sliding window locks no longer fit the latches, someone could potentially take the screen off the window and gain entry to the apt. These are an affordable way to ensure the windows can be locked in place from the inside. Super simple but gives me piece of mind. As others have said, warn others in the house that they are there in case of a fire.Sturdy, functional, inexpensive. Should fit most raised sliding window rails, they are essentially adjustable screw clamps.

These completely solved my problem of broken latch type lock on bedroom windows. Very inexpensive fix. Secures tightly to the bottom. Easy to reach over table in the way of window and tighten or loosen. Can put along the side anywhere, if you want to crack the window a bit. I even tested in on my sliding glass door; it fit well there also. Again, if you just want to crack the door. Simple solution to prevent windows from opening. Some of my windows open side to side; others slide up/down. Worked on both types.

Well I use these in my bus window to keep the window snug on my ac hose and they are very secure.

Unless the metal on your window is extremely thin... don't buy these. That's a nickel leaning against the window. I'm thinking these will work well on older homes with very thin window panes. I had to hammer it on and it doesn't seem secure.Disappointed😞

Be careful ordering this product. The opening along which one is meant to insert the device onto the ridge of the window is far to small for my windows. I would like to return these please.
