SeaChoice's 2500 lb trailer jack is a winner. Unlike the Dutton-Lainson typical trailer jack, this is heavy duty all the way. For example, the bolts used to mount the jack on your trailer tongue are 11/16 versus the D-L 9/16 bolts. Also, the mechanism used to lengthen or shorten the height of the jack uses a much larger diameter pin to set the height, thereby ensuring better safety and better weight handling. And finally, the footer (mine is not a wheeled jack) is a thicker gauge metal than the thin footer on the D-L models. All in all, the Sea Choice trailer jack is worth the extra $20 you'll spend over the D-L model.

I use this for my large RV. 1983 Avion 30 ft trailer and it performs perfectly. I have had it for 3 years and always been reliable despite no maintenance.

Easy install. Good quality. Smooth operating mechanism. No good DIY project is worth it without an extraneous trip to the hardware store. Missing handle nut. Right price. Stainless look.

Reasonably priced, easy to install, works well. Used to replace original trailer jack that bottom plate had corroded off.

Im on my second one in a year. The pin for the top gear keeps falling out and the teeth on the gears dont last long. It would probably make a decent anchor but its trash as a jack.

The Jack works great especially with my heavy boat (and Trailer) but unfortunately today after 5 weeks with two trips, the handle fell off of the jack seemingly on the freeway. I wrote to the company seachoice and am waiting for their response. I hope all ends up well.

Very heavy, solid construction. I purchase two to jack up a dock and they work great.

I put this on my boat trailer to replace a binding 5000 pound jack from a different manufacturer. The total weight of my boat is around 5000 pounds with the trailer but this 2500 pound jack handles the load with ease. I bought the boat and trailer with the old jack on the trailer, and I guess the previous owner was into overkill. Remember, you’re only lifting the tongue weight, but you need a little more lifting capacity in order to securely support your trailer (and boat) when parked or stored. Installation took less than ten minutes. It took me longer to round up the tools than it did to put it on the trailer.
