This little GADGET/TOOL saved the life of my engine!All worked as advertised...zero problem in application/execution.Spark plug hole/orifice/cavity (lack of proper term) on my 2007 Subaru Impreza was SEVERELY damaged and in need of THREADS!This tool accomplished the RESCUE JOB...and as advertised, gave my engine back the functionality it lacked.I highly recommend this item for those who...for whatever reason...are struggling to re-construct a destroyed spark-plug hole.***HIGHLY RECOMMENDED TIP:Use grease in the re-threading process.After RE-THREADING the hole...debris WILL inevitably fall inside the engine cavity (cylinder chamber)...which is NOT GOOD!In my case...and I HIGHLY RECOMMEND the following...I completely removed the EXHAUST MANIFOLD from the bottom (again...after the re-thread) and turned engine ON just BRIEFLY (few seconds) to expel (shoot out) all that metal material/shavings before it hits the Cat-Converter.It will be LOUD!...may(or may not) give you a TEMPORARY "check-engine" light (which will go away after all installed)...but no harm to engine. Works tons better than attempting compressed air down spark-plug cavity/hole.Works like a charm!! You will thank me.Good luck

Would be nice if it came with a drill bit since it's such an odd size that nobody carries them

It really needs to come with a drill bit. 19/32. I could not find one. So I ened up using a 9/16. Had to make sure to go slow and remove the tap multiple times to clear the cut material. I would recommend finding the right bit especially if the spark plug hole is in cumbersome spot. Also make sure to turn the engine over to remove the cuttings before installing the plug.

This 14mm x 1.25 spark plug repair kit fixed my 2008 Aveo5. The Aveo5 blew the #2 spark plug out of the head. I bought this kit to repair the spark plug hole without pulling the head. I didn't even have to drill the sparkplug hole bigger. I had to modify the tap to fit a ½" drive12mm deep well socket. (The spark plug hole was 3-4½" deep through the valve cover.)I had the hole tapped, the insert on the plug , put high strength thread locker on the insert and installed the plug into the hole and tightened the plug to specifications. The whole job, including modifying the tap, took about 45 minutes.The kit even came with 10 high quality inserts. So I have extras in case another plug blows out. I highly recommend this 14mm spark plug repair kit. The kit is worth every penny spent. I saved easily close to $2000 in repairs for under $20.
