I recently gifted my mom the Sunco 4 Pack 4 Inch Ultra Thin LED Recessed Ceiling Lights for her new kitchen, and I couldn't be happier with the results!First and foremost, installation was a breeze. With the help of my step dad, we had all four lights installed in no time. The slim profile of these lights made them easy to fit into the ceiling without any hassle or extra modifications required. The brightness of these LED lights is truly impressive. They illuminate the kitchen with a brilliant, even light that enhances visibility and makes the space feel inviting and welcoming. My mom loves how well-lit her kitchen is now, especially when preparing meals or entertaining guests.Another feature that we appreciate is the energy efficiency of these lights. Not only do they provide ample brightness, but they also consume minimal energy, helping to reduce electricity costs in the long run. Plus, with LED technology, we can expect these lights to have a long lifespan, saving us the hassle of frequent bulb replacements. The quality of construction is also worth mentioning. These lights feel sturdy and well-made, and we have confidence that they will continue to perform reliably for years to come.Overall, I couldn't be more pleased with the Sunco 4 Pack 4 Inch Ultra Thin LED Recessed Ceiling Lights. They've made a significant difference in my mom's kitchen, both in terms of aesthetics and functionality. If you're looking to upgrade your lighting fixtures, I highly recommend giving these lights a try. They're a fantastic value for the quality and performance they deliver!

We've installed 2 of these, are about to put in 2 more. They throw off a ton of light at full brightness, but aren't finicky about dimming down to a very cozy glow (so long as you're using an LED-rated dimmer - if not they'll flicker, but that's true for almost all LEDs), and the night-light feature dims and brightens nicely as well. Very wide angle, and the 3,000K setting (warmest these get) is a crisp, clean light that isn't too cold. The wiring inside of them is kinda crap, ~16ga stranded, but that's par for the course; you'll also be a little frustrated getting them on the ring that comes with them (similar to a smoke detector where you twist on) the first few times, but they get easier with practice. I was able to put them on an existing ceiling box from previous lighting installs, and they come with easy hardware to do that, or mount directly, and a bunch of other options as well. On the whole, a solid buy and a nice light we'll install in several rooms in our house.

Slim and easy to install, and each light has a box so you get 4 to use, not just a string of lights connected to one box

I installed 8 of these lights over the course of 16 hours (this included running new Romex for the lights and taking down the existing fixtures.) If you have a moderate command of basic electrical wiring, some patience, and a willingness to cut holes in your ceiling, then these lights would be a good option. That said, This product has its advantages and limitations.First the positive:Lights are packaged well and the installation is easy and intuitive. The lights are a sealed unit with a foam gasket that reduces airflow from the attic to the heated/cooled space below. While they are not air tight rated, the gasket will help to a degree. The spring load clamps are fairly tight and they produce a snug fit against the drywall ceilings. The lights are bright. So bright that a dimmer is almost a necessity. Be prepared to spend $25-35 for a new dimmer that will work with LED lights. If you have dimmer running existing incandescent lights, it most likely will not work properly with these lights. The two spring loaded clips (as opposed to 4 clips found with most traditional 6” can lights) also allow for closer installation to ceiling joists as the lights can be installed with the clips running parallel to joists. Even though the lights can be installed closer to joists or ther ceiling obstructions, the lights still need a couple inches of clearance for proper, solid installation. These lights are also much easier to work with than traditional metal housing can lights. The limitations:The junction box is small. Anything more than two 14-2 Romex cables in the box is simply too much for the box. The ground wire on every light is about 2” too short. Also, the pre-stripped portion on grounding wire (1/4 inch) was simply too short. I had to strip every ground wire before I could even think about attaching the light wiring to the Romex. These lights would install much faster if the lights had multi-port Romex connectors pre-installed. Also wouldn’t hurt if the lights were wired with solid wire as opposed to the stranded wire they come with. The cable that connects the light to j-box is also a little too short for most applications. Ideally, the j-box should be fastened to a joist or rafter after installation, however, this is not feasible in most applications because of the short connection wiring. These lights do not come with a cutout template. Not huge draw back but it would be nice have. I simply cut out a few 6” paper circles to get around this minor inconvenience. The 6” holes produced a nice snug fit. Theoretically, the light holes could be larger than 6” but not by much.Overall, the lights have been installed for few days and I am pleased with the finished look.
