I’ve been a fan of Testo since my purchase of the 557 gauge manifold 3 years ago. The best part about this meter right off the bat is the amp clamp. It is so easy to get this around wires in tiny heat pump compartments. I love that it does microfarads, diodes, Watts, hertz, and all of the basics. Only minor issue is that the auto function doesn’t always pick the right measurement. For instance if I am checking resistance on auto, it shows a microfarad reading. Really not a big deal to be honest, because you can just manually select the function you want. All in all, I’ve been going for testo more and more ever since my Fluke 902 broke after 6 months of use. I’ve been nothing but happy with my Testo products.

It’s a nice product but there’s just too many things they didn’t do to make this meter easier to use. First off the big clunky leads they send with it have straight connections to the meter itself. These leads pull out of the connection so easily I thought about securing them with a hot glue gun. The meter is all over the place when checking resistance. It takes what seems like an eternity to read capacitance. When checking current, sometimes you have to open the jaw, turn the meter off, turn the meter back on switch back to current and then close the jaw to get it to zero and then read the proper amperage. Also, if the meter is left on and shuts itself off, you cannot simply switch from resistance to voltage to turn the meter on. You have to roll the dial all the way back to off and then back to the reading you want to take. It doesn’t sound like a big deal, but it can be hard to turn the dial as big as this meter is and given the fact that there is also no magnet, no strap no hook or any kind of way to support this meter other than buying a very expensive magnet kit separately from Testo Or just buying universal one from Amazon and getting one that does not exactly fit but works. Also Testo provided no method of storing the leads on the meter. I bought this meter to replace my fieldpiece. 680 I really like that meter and would recommend it to anybody but bought the Testo Because I have been looking at it for a while and wanted to give it a try. I really really want to like this meter but these things all add up and considering the price point of the meter and it not coming with any accessories really, I would I Recommend going with something else.

Testo 770-3 all of the functions work well with no issues. I am using this for hvac work. It meets and exceeds needs there. The reason for 4 stars instead of five is due to the lack of place for magnetic strap to hand meter and the plastic the case is made of feels cheep like abs plastic. All and all functions work well

I’ve had these for 3 years now and this meter is equal to fluke 902fc with all HvacR tech applications. Very accurate and comfortable in your hand. Clamp Is great hooking wires in tight spaces. Highly HIGHLY recommend to any Hvac guys. Commercial Hvac tech here.Bluetooth works good. Can only go about 25’ however the app is very use friendly. Batteries last forever.
