I was hesitant because of the price, but after breaking it in for a week it’s well worth the money. It’s durable enough for chicken claws! The only drawback (if you’d even call it that) is the depth, it’s a shorter hat and the size does run a bit small despite the adjustment strap, but that’s the style of the hat to sit right above the ears. So again, this is well worth the price.

Luckily I read the review of the fit being bad, but thankfully I didn’t have that issue, this feels nice and thick and I sized it to be perfectly fitting to my head, love it.

I’m currently wearing it. It’s just a tad tight with it let out all the way. When I get a haircut it should fit perfectly. I’v had no haircut in almost eighteen months due to the current pandemic and all it brought with it. It’s made well and never having worn a trawler it’s definitely different than what I usually wear and very unique. The overall stitching was excellent and consistent throughout the hat and the pieces and parts all fit together well. Time will tell on longevity so if I need to update I’ll do so post haste. Four Stars âï¸âï¸âï¸âï¸!!!

I really wanted to like the UNDERCONTROL Brimless Trawler, but after using it for a while, I have to say I’m a bit disappointed. The idea of a brimless hat sounded great at first – less restriction around the head, plus the durability claims were enticing. However, the reality didn’t quite live up to expectations.First, the fit is off for me. Even though it’s supposed to be “durable,†it feels a bit stiff and uncomfortable to wear for long periods. The lack of a brim is definitely something to get used to, and while it’s advertised as durable, it feels more like a hard shell rather than something soft and flexible. I wouldn’t mind the rigidity so much if it was comfortable, but unfortunately, that’s not the case.The material is another letdown. It’s supposedly designed for tough use, but after only a few wears, I noticed some wear and tear along the edges, especially on the inside. For a hat that's supposed to be durable, it didn’t hold up as well as I’d hoped. It’s almost like the quality doesn’t match up to the “tough†marketing.As for the style, it’s very basic and not as versatile as I thought it would be. I assumed I could wear it with pretty much anything, but it doesn't really work for all occasions. The lack of brim doesn’t just make it less practical for sun protection, but it also leaves me feeling like it looks incomplete compared to other hats with proper brims.In the end, the UNDERCONTROL Brimless Trawler just didn’t live up to the hype. It’s not terrible, but for the price, I expected more comfort and durability. If you’re looking for something with more flexibility and a comfortable fit, I’d suggest looking elsewhere.

I have gone through many of these with different brands. By far the best quality and shape. Band is slightly thicker than others which is a plus because it give the unit a more dressy/top quality vibe. I purchased the cordura version.
