The hard drive works great! I have an HP all in one in the kitchen. It's great as it saves space and can get my recipes, etc. Instead of opening it up to put in internal, I bought this hard drive and installed Windows 11 on the external drive. The computer performance is much much much better. Hard drive performs perfectly. Definitely recommended.

I couldn't get it to top 250MB per second in test environment, real transfer rate was closer to 230MB /s which is still absurdly fast for a USB device. In NTFS you get 238.45GB, it shows up as a JMicron Tech SCSI Disk Device.Inside you will find a custom printed board, the USB-C connector has 4 well soldered joints holding it down.The JMS901 UFS-USB Bridge Controller is made by JMicron.The memory inside is interesting. The San Disk SDINDDH4-256G 256G-byte Embedded iNAND UFS 2.1 aka MC EU311, according to Western Digital whitepapers it is made as top of line flagship cellphone memory with a unit cost of $10 this company isn't getting rich off of these.Due to the unique nature of this device it hates being formatted as WBFS, it struggled with FAT32. It works fine and dandy as exFAT and NTFS though.

I have only had the drive for about a week, and windows says that "this drive needs to eb formatted before you can use it." I had some important things on that drive, but all can be recovered from other drives(this one just consolidated all of them) and from the cloud. Never buying from some sketchy company like VANSUNY again. I also saw that the box of a JOIOT internal SATA SSD looked exactly the same as this box, which leads me to think that this is one of those times when a company makes multiple brands(i needed the SATA SSD for a project that failed, not because of the SSD) and has each selling the same products, just so only 1 brand at a time gets a bad rep instead of the whole company. Every free file recovery service i use can either can not find the files, or lock most of the files on the drive behind a paywall.

Speedy little drive for a cheap little 500gb external USB based drive. Would work great for a laptop as it only uses about 1 watt when I was testing it during benchmarking. Doesn't get too hot at around 92* so that's always a plus.Haven't had any read/write errors out of it at all.It's sturdy with it's all metal frame so that's a bonus as well. comes with a USB A>C cable as well as an adaptor so it will work with USB C on both ends. a little carrying pouch. Plus it's has a full metal enclosure.Would work great for a little game/media drive on a laptop or even on a phone if needed.

Bought this to use for college. I ended up using it to store several virtual machines for my cybersecurity classes. Highly recommend, very portable, comes in a nice velvet pouch as well.

Its reliable for a couple of hours. It keeps disconnecting and reconnecting and I have to physically disconnect and connect again. not the best buy okay for the price. very small and fast at least

Tried to transfer 300 gig of data at once. Worked well for first 150 gig but then overheated and data transfer slowed to a crawl (12mps) also tried to see my photos on both my TV's and something is incompatible and doesn't even see anything is plugged into USB ports. Not what I had hoped for.
