I'm getting into basic electronic hobby projects, specifically building electric guitar effects pedals, and I bought this to start a store of components. I feel it has a good amount and variety of components, all of which are usable for the pedal projects I'd like to take on. If I could ask that anything be added to this assortment, it would be some mono or stereo jacks, and some log potentiometers to complement the included linear pots, and some film capacitors to complement the ceramic and electrolytic caps.I've only done a couple of breadboard projects and taken some components from this to replace suspected faulty components from a fuzz pedal kit I built (the pedal kit was also from 3pdt) so I can't comment on total components' reliability. However, the few pieces I've used have had no issues, so as of now, I'm happy with this assortment.

It has what it says. Everything comes in it's own bag, inside a cardboard box. Thought that was nice at first, then my dog peed on the box.Everything is fine and no noticable damage beyond the box, the plastic bags saved it all. Bags are labeled, too, so losing the box is just inconvenient.Only 4 star is for sturdiness, because the box is trash now. But with everything else holding up and the organization, I couldn't feel right about giving it a worse score. 5/5 overall.Little bonus, a lot of people teach this circuitry stuff by comparing it to plumbing, for example, diodes = one-way valves. Water/electricity can on flow one way, yeah?Well these diodes can work as an actual one way valve on your dog's urine-dispensing extension pipe, if the dog is small enough. The electrolytic capacitors will work for bigger dogs.

I am happy with the quality of parts included in the kit. Granted the resistors included in the package will not work for breadboard based projects as the resistor leads are too thin but the assortment of other parts make up for that inconvenience. I have used several of the parts with my ongoing electronic hobby projects and I did not encounter any DOA parts as of yet. For the asking price, I wish the supplier included them with a plastic storage box but would that be too much to ask?Please note.. there are no Photo-resistor LDRs in this kit.. that for me was a bummer. Please include some LDRs in this kit like what you have in your other kit Overall, I think this kit contains more than enough parts you need for minor electronics hobby projects for years to come.Rating the product with four stars!

Blue resistors, I don't trust them for some reason. They have a zero ohm. Other then that this is a descent variety of components. The tester included I'm not familiar with but looks neat.

Maybe not great for a beginner, poorly labeled components make a magnifying lens a must have. There no documentation for any of the I.C.s.... that said it's a decent way to stock up on resistors and diodes.
