I purchased this to build a "cage" to prevent a ceramic bowl (with complex shape) from slumping during glaze firing. It succeeded at this - there's a clear line that shows some slumping occurred above where the wire was, which indicates it was still there after the kiln got to heat. However, it didn't stand up to the salt put in the kiln at the end of firing. There was no sign of the wire when the kiln was cooled and unloaded. Not the fault of the wire, really - just if anyone else want to try this - don't use in a salt/soda kiln.

I bought this for my research lab. We're making filaments to thermally evaporate materials in a vacuum system. It's much cheaper than tungsten wire available from vacuum supply companies like Lesker and MDC.
