If you run short whips with little to no flex to them, these are a definite must have. They're great for longer whips too. The spring helps absorb some of the impact in the event the whip hits something, like a tree branch or drive under something that is too short. Short whips with no flex can break pretty easily. I've seen a UTV rollover in the sand dunes and the whip didn't break, it bent over on its side. I parked my UTV in my garage once, forgetting to take my whip off, instead of breaking, it dragged along my ceiling and I was able to take it off with no damage, just a slight scratch on the ceiling. It fits into my cage mounts nicely and looks good. I have had no issues with these, I like them and would recommend them.

Wow! This is one heavy duty spring. And it's almost overkill for my pole flag lengths. At 60 mph my little four foot pole antenna didn't flap around at all. Since I'm running an LED pole, I didn't really want to try running under a tree to see if it would fold back and save my blinky lights. I suspect the spring wouldn't give enough and I'd take some damage there. This is better used for tall fiberglass poles with a flag up on top. With that setup you'd be just fine to roam the sand dunes without a fear your flag is folded down because of wind.Solid build and it works great with a standard mounting bracket.

This is a good addition to any brand Whip Lights as it protects them form breaking when they hit something. They are well made and heavier then I thought they would be. They are as described so they get 4 stars.

Great mounting base for your lights. Installs fast and easy and will keep low branches and overhangs from snapping your whip light as long as you’re not going too fast. I believe it’s a good value.

I put this on my newly acquired can am trail with a four foot whip light. It fit great and has saved my new whip from being broken when I hit some small tree branches. It was very easy to install and my whip detaches easily from it. I will be ordering another one for the other whip light. It is made of a nice durable material and should last a long time.

These springs are the perfect replacement for my current springs on my 4 wheeler. Easy to install and use with my current whips.

I ordered this for a light rod on my UTV. This helps with the give, if the rod hits a branch on a tree or bush. It worked as advertised as a quick disconnect. This will help with the safety aspect of attaching a light rod to my UTV.
