I have a fiberglass boat transom replacement project that is draaaaging on. Almost a year this thing has sat in my backyard, killing the grass and slowly sinking into the ground on its trailer. Anyway, I’ve gone through SO MANY flap discs and sanding pads on this project, and there’s some major surface sanding left to do. I needed heavy-duty flap discs to do the majority of surfacing, and Amazon, as always, provides.Fiberglass doesn’t seem like it, but it’s incredibly harsh stuff on your tools. It’s abrasive and the resin makes normal sanding implements like belt sanders overheat and shreds the belt. So, I don’t expect any brand, and quality of abrasive to last long. Why spend two or three times more for “brand name†in this case? These discs are solidly built and while I haven’t gone through all ten yet, can certainly handle the abuse that my corded 7†grinder can deliver.Overall, happy with the discs at this price, and if the rest hold up, I’ll probably get more of the same.

These are great for grinding down welds, or removing rust before welding. They are a little dangerous though, so make sure you're holding onto your grinder well. I removed the guard from my flexvolt grinder (that is rated for 6" discs) and these worked great on it (definitely not OSHA approved). I didn't have any problems with it falling apart and I'll get a lot of use out of each one.
