Too bad I can't give this ZERO stars!... Inserted the tip into needle and pulled thread through, the tip of the threader (sharp little blade) fell off... hmm, let's try another one... same thing! Can hardly hold the threader as it is so small. Let's try again... and wouldn't you know it?... same thing broke AGAIN! That's 3 broken threaders in 3 minutes! Save your money, get beeswax and run your thread over the wax, snip the end of your thread and then thread your needles.

These needle threaders are quite cute in design , but are quite difficult to handle when threading a needle. They are very small. I found it hard to hold the needle on the ‘fish’ and get the thread looped over the ‘hook’ at the same time. I experienced the same issue while using the ‘fish’ to thread my sewing machine needle. I eventually removed the machine foot to access the right angle to ‘hook’ the thread through. As far as actual threading a needle, it does that. It just is not a time saver. I guess if you had a particularly difficult needle and thread combo it might be an option.

These don’t work very well. You need three hands to use them. I threw them away and went back to the old fashion needle threader. I give three stars because, given enough effort, you can thread a needle… too much effort!!!

I looked at a few convincing YouTube videos. The demos were short but persuasive.->First, I tried using this device with my sewing machine needle (14/90) mounted in the needle clamp of my sewing machine. I figured out I will need to poke the short rod into the backside of my sewing machine needle. (The flat end of my needle faces to the rear). I was able to reproduce the results shown in many YouTube videos (using a mounted, stabilized needle). HOWEVER, it is tricky to feed the short rod into the backside of the mounted needle on my sewing machine.I think these devices are great for side loading sewing machine needles.Second, I tried using this device with my sewing machine needle (14/90) not mounted in my sewing machine. I was able to poke the short metal rod into the hole of the needle and stabilize the needle and device between 2 fingers in my left hand. Then I tried to grab the thread (spooled) in my right hand to wrap it around the metal bud at the end of the short rod. However, it is very tricky to stabilize the short rod poked through the needle between 2 fingers. Maybe this takes more dexterity and practice with loose needles?->My next try? Maybe devise a simple clamping setup? (clothes pin?) for a loose needle?
