These syringe filters came very well packaged, and unlike most of the syringe filters on Amazon, they appear to be sterile. They were packaged individually, and then all the individually packaged filters were placed inside an airtight bag for shipping. The filters come with a certificate listing all of the sterilization methods used. They have been working well and show no signs of contamination or clogging. I have been using these as vents on liquid cultures, which are thriving without contamination. The price is a little high but still cheaper than buying sterile syringe filters from a healthcare or hospital supplier or ordering thousands of filters to get a discount.

13mm ones are best for filtering anything less than 10ml because less gets lost in the filter, especially if you push a couple ml of sterile water through it first and about 3 drops of water after. You can get some sterile 3, 5, or 10ml vials and bacteriostatic water (sterile water with 0.9% benzyl alcohol, also called reconstitution solution) and filter a bunch at once. Should stay safe like that for weeks. You'll also lose less to the filter, and it's very convenient.

I've used all 10 of these so far on my (plastic) quart jar lids for grains pawn. They have withstood 15psi so far without any signs of damage, and thus far there is no sign of contamination in my jars.They are of course more expensive than synthetic stickers, however if you are set of using syringe filters - they seem to work just fine for that as well. I will say however that they are a tad on the expensive side for only being 10 count - you are paying for the individual wrapped/sterile container. Usually PES filters run about 10$ for 20 at retail pricing (lower if buying in bulk) -- if you are using these for anything that will end up in an autoclave or PC, then you don't need the individual sterile containers.

These filters have a large 33mm filter disk with 2nm pores that filter out all but the tiniest of organic and inorganic material. Some mold spores are in the 1nm range but they are the exception and not the rule.The filter is open on both ends and accepts two sizes on one side and a single size on the other. Each of the 10 units is individually wrapped and the filters are all sealed in a larger bag so that they are sterile on the outside of the individual packaging.
