I have a chandelier chandelier that only came with a black wire to hang down so I ordered these rods to cover that up and make it look a little nicer. I do think that these are going to be easier to use if you’re putting them on a light fixture that has not been installed yet because you do need to pull the wire out of the Housing that goes on the ceiling. Also, so that I didn’t have to thread a wire through 6 feet of rod, I threaded it through one rod at a time and then screwed on as I went, and it was super easy to add to my light fixture. I think it’s also helping Make the fixture hang straight down because of the support that it provides. Love that this made a relatively inexpensive fixture look a lot nicer.

We used these downrods with some pendant lights that didn’t come with any. These worked nicely, but they did not come with any sort of regular adapter. Only 1 sloped one which we did not need. My husband was still able to use these for our desired purpose with no issues. The color matches perfectly, and we had enough rods to cover 3 pendants. They are slightly more narrow than the other set we had, but the wire still threaded through.
