The only down side to this product is the price, however, three of these should last you a really long time even though they are tiny jars. I would suggest making friends in band by sharing a jar with someone else.

All I can say is that this product is so much better than the "tube/lipstick" cork grease that you see everywhere. I just got back into playing clarinet after 35+ years and found that the tube cork grease wasn't offering the smooth connection that I remembered. After reading other reviews, I gave this a try and I am VERY pleased. Good buy, easy application, and most importantly, I don't feel I have to "pull" to get my instrument disassembled when I'm done playing for the day. Good stuff.

Although I expected the lanolin cork grease to be thinner in consistency (it's pretty thick) , a little dab really works well to ease instrument assembly. Also, being so thick, I don't use too much, so the tiny jar should last a long time. Moreover, unlike the standard "lipstick" style cork grease that's sold everywhere, a quick rub with a microfiber cloth easily removes this grease from the cork so there is no build-up of residue to disintegrate the cork.
