This is a no-frills, basic separatory funnel, but that's the beauty of it. It is exactly as pictured, and actually seems quite well-made and as sturdy as a big glass bulb can be! The packaging was extremely protective and it arrived in perfect shape. It also arrived a whole 28 days earlier than projected, so I am overall very pleased with the purchase. The valve works like a champ too!

I bought it to extract heat from some carolina reaper peppers. have to give some thought what you are extracting so you can clean it.

You have to use a grease like vaseline or other specialized product for a proper seal but after I learned that, it worked great!

Overall: recommended.The top stopper is an unmarked plastic (probably polypropylene), not glass.-1 star: it came to me a little dirty. there was a tiny bit of gunk inside, and the outside was generally dingy/dusty. Wash it, and it's totally fine.Stopcock doesn't leak if properly sealed (I think all the 1-star reviews complaining about leaking are people who didn't know you need to put a sealant on glass-to-glass connections).The diameter of the through-hole on the stopcock is maybe 2mm, so if you're buying this to filter something chunky, you'll probably have to replace that, but I don't know the standard hole size, so maybe that's normal.
