This meghometer is very useful in determining the resistance between terminals that should be electrically isolated, like other MMRs, signal inputs and even outlets. This will output a low current but significantly high voltage output ranging from 250 to 1000 Vdc so ensure the measured device can stand that voltage or otherwise you'll be executing a destructive test. Be very careful when using this device and ensure whatever you are measuring is powered off. It conveniently also features a DC/AC voltmeter (to ensure the device being measured is not actually producing any output) and a low value ohmmeter (2K range) for low voltage resistance testing.Additionally, it can be powered with AA batteries or an external (not included) 9 VDC adapter. It was a strange choice to use AA batteries compared to a single 9V battery but my guess is that the AA batteries provide a slightly higher current in this array since 9V batteries are just a compact array of 6x 1.5V AAA batteries.

This seems to be a surprisingly good little meter for the price. I have another meter with similar functions that was way more expensive. This one seems to be well made and seems to work just fine. I thought at first the rubber cover was part of the meter...that's how exact it fits. But then I realized that it peels away...in fact, you have to remove it to change the batteries. It takes six AAs...but they were included. Also include was a little cloth zippered cover/bag. That's nice to have. It also has some leads for measuring temperature...I don't think I've ever had a multimeter that measures temperature! I have a vintage VW Beetle and I carry some basic tools with the car. I plan to include this meter as part of my kit.

This voltage testing meter works as expected. It is well made, easy to use, and does exactly what it is supposed to do. I have been using it for awhile now and have not had any kind of issues with it.

This meter works great and the price is even better. I have a Fluke and almost feel embarrassed that I paid so much for it when I could have gotten this one at a fraction of the price with all of the functions.
