All of my switches and NIC's work with Cisco, and I had no issue using this transceiver.I have a network consisting of 1g, 10g, 40g, and 100g. 40g suits most of our speedy needs, but since we have a 100g switch, we started moving some of our computers over to 100g. I had no issues setting up a connection.5 out of 5 stars.

Very fast, low power, convenient maintenance:This product provides very fast data transfer speeds that so far have lived up to the 100GBps claims, which is very very fast given the current ~$60 price tag of this model. The product also requires a remarkably low 2.5W of power to operate, so its an energy efficient way to upgrade and is able to operate at higher temps without running into performance issues or slowing down the connection speed greatly. The product's hot-pluggable feature and built in diagnostics are also ideal from a maintenance perspective and help us better predict and adapt to issues that arise when we need to troubleshoot.Overall, this is a good product and I would recommend.

I ended up with a 100 gigabit Ethernet switch for my home lab, and have been acquiring optical modules for the switch. This was a great option for top speed on the switch, while I normally downgrade to 40gig for most of my systems (if not 10gig).This was my eighth Opstran module, with other 10gig fiber/copper, as well as 25gig and 40gig fiber, modules working well in my relatively lightweight environment. If you're using them for production or business critical uses, definitely warm them up and test them thoroughly to avoid late night pager calls (even if you don't really have a pager). But for my use it's a great price and a very usable module. Since I don't really drive 100gig regularly, I'm planning to run a breakout cable on this module to feed some Mellanox 25gig cards.

It works and it works to spec and that’s about all you can say for something like this. If I have any problems going forward I’ll keep the review updated but the price is decent for what you are getting. I’ve seen way more expensive modules. So I’m happy with is. Definitely make sure that it is compatible with your unit.

HIGH QUALITY BUILDThis Transceiver Module has a heavy high quality casing, a quality board, and thick, flexible rubber handle for pulling out when needed.MAKE SURE YOU GET THE CORRECT ONEAmazon is great for making returns easy, but you might as well make sure you get the one that will work with your system in the first place. There are several to choose from, so I have included some information on this one here (the 100G QSFP28 SR4 for Cisco) …VERSATILEThe Cisco 100GBASE QSFP (Quad Small Form-Factor Pluggable) Portfolio offers customers a wide variety of high-density and low-power 100 Gigabit* Ethernet connectivity options for data center, high-performance computing networks, enterprise core and distribution layers, and service provider applications. The QSFP-100G modules are a generation of 100G transceiver modules solution based on QSFP form factor.TEN TIMES FASTER THAN STANDARD ETHERNET*100 Gigabit Ethernet (100GbE) is computer networking technology for transmitting Ethernet frames at rates of 100 gigabits per second (Gbit/s). This technology offers significantly higher speeds than 10 Gigabit Ethernet, The Standard Ethernet Speed.QSFP28 (Quad Small Form-Factor Pluggable 28) is a Hot-Pluggable Transceiver Module designed for 100G data rate. QSFP28 integrates 4 transmit and 4 receiver channels. “28†means each lane carries up to 28G data rate. QSFP28 can do 4x25G breakout connection, 2x50G breakout, or 1x100G depending on the transceiver used.

It is important to note that the OPSTRAN 100G QSFP28 SR4 transceiver module is designed for use with Cisco QSFP-100G-SR4-S Meraki MA-QSFP-100G-SR4 systems and may not be compatible with other equipment. It is always a good idea to carefully check the compatibility of any transceiver module with the equipment it will be used with to ensure proper performance.Additionally, pay attention to range!! As the use of multi-mode fiber (MMF) may limit the range of the transceiver to 100 meters, which may be insufficient for some applications. Single-mode fiber (SMF) can often provide longer ranges, but it is not supported by the OPSTRAN 100G QSFP28 SR4 transceiver module. It is also worth noting that the module's digital optical monitoring (DOM) feature may not be supported by all devices. Some devices may not be able to interpret the DOM data provided by the transceiver, in which case the feature will not be functional.Overall, it is important to carefully consider the compatibility and performance requirements of your networking application to ensure that the OPSTRAN 100G QSFP28 SR4 transceiver module is a suitable choice for your set up. This OPSTRAN 100G QSFP28 SR4 transceiver module appears to be a high-quality and reliable option for networking applications that require fast data transfer speeds. Some of the key features that drew me to it are its compatibility with Cisco QSFP-100G-SR4-S Meraki MA-QSFP-100G-SR4 systems.Support for 100GBASE-SR4, which allows for data transfer speeds of up to 100Gbps.Use of multi-mode fiber (MMF), which allows for a range of up to 100 meters.MTP/MPO connectivity, which is a high-density connector that is often used in fiber optic networking.Digital optical monitoring (DOM), which allows for real-time monitoring of the transceiver's performance.Overall, these features make this transceiver module a versatile and reliable option for a wide range of networking applications.
