Fast reactivate in microwave for reuse:
- Spread the silica packets directly on the bottom of the microwave for recharging. If your microwave comes with a fixed glass turntable, recharge them with a Microwavable Container to avoid damage.
- Reactivate in microwave with the relative recharge time for reference: 700W microwave at DEFROST ONLY; 10g/Packet, 20g/Packet: 2mins; 50g/Packet, 100g/Packet: 3mins; 250g/Packet, 500g/Packet: 3mins+3mins(3mins/side); If the desiccant don’t dry enough, rejuvenate one more time after cooling.
- The orange beads will lose indicating function by changing to other colors instead of dark green after repeat drying, but the humidity absorbing function still remains.
- Time to reactivate: Orange beads change to dark green while the total weight of desicant packet is about 130% of its own weight.

Got these for my medicine storage. One bag solved the moisture problem. The colored beads are really hard to see. Shining a light through them helps but the color change is subtle.

As carnivoirs, we make beef flour out of beef and we put it in canning jars along with one desiccant in each jar. We want to capture any excess moisture that might be in the beef flour. So far, so good.

Not many indicator beads in package and was expecting each to be a hit larger in size but they work. Indicator beads do change color which is good.

I use these desiccant packs in the mini fridge in my office. I was always having issues with condensation in my fridge, either freezing to the back wall, or pooling at the bottom of the fridge. Everything would take on that "fridge smell".I cleaned out the fridge and put one of these 250g packs on the top shelf before restocking it with drinks. Kept the fridge dry and odor free for about 3 weeks. When I notice water pooling on the bottom of the fridge again, I swap it out for the fresh pack, soak up the pooled water with paper towel and within a day the fridge is dry again.The used pack did not turn totally green. When I hold it up to a bright light, the crystals are mostly clear with a few that are actually dark green. To recharge, I have a heating pad that I turn on high and leave the bag sitting on it overnight. Works like a charm, when I hold the bag up to the light, all the crystals are bright orange again. I haven't tried the microwave method as indicated in the instructions.While the packs only last about 3 weeks in my fridge, it's a high moisture content space, so I imagine it would last a lot longer if used to keep a gun safe or other area dry.

Bought a 10 pack of 50g packets to use in my camera storage cases to bring the relative humidity down below 60% (to prevent mould growth) - and I've been extremely pleased with the results.It's three months in and I've just swapped out some of the most recent packets with the last two from the batch - so I'd say I'm getting at least a month to six week's worth of use out of them before the hygrometers start to hover around 60%.I've just recharged the spent packs in the microwave and I'd say that the manufacturer's instructions didn't seem to work that well as I needed a lot more time and power than specified (several two minute sessions at full power, plus resting for a couple of minutes inbetween). No big deal, though I might try the oven method next time as it might be less hassle. Nonetheless pleased to see the indicator crystals return to orange.It'll be interesting to see how long they remain effective for, but at the price I'd be more than happy to get a year's worth of use out of them.
