Nylon lock nut includes a nylon insert to resist vibration and shock. This insert is located in the end section of the nut and works by deforming over the threads of the bolt when tightened, thereby preventing the nut from loosening under vibrations or torque.
304 stainless steel is non-magnetic or slightly magnetic.

Ordered this (10) Pack of 3/8" 304 - Stainless Steel - SAE - w/Locknut Nylon Inserts for use to secure the cup & rock teeth installation on the cutting chain/bar on my walk behind trenching machine. I've always lost teeth from time to time while digging trenches in the earth as in my area, there's many limestone, slate, and river rocks and the teeth and chain takes a beating. The tooth replacement is now even more expensive to replace them. Recently while shopping online for some good bolts for my tooth replacements, I saw this (10) pack of 3/8" SAE threads and that they were made of good 304 - 18-8 stainless steel, and these nuts had nylon inserts for locking them in place, and I ordered them. These were the answer for my machine to "quit losing teeth". These locking nylon inserts really work.I recently installed some new teeth on my chain. Have done (4) jobs and not lost a tooth yet!. They are made of good stainless which means no rusting and that's a big issue with average steel nuts as this machine stays wet with mud half the time digging and then constantly washing it off for next job. These are a bit tight to put on, but that's good as the good nylon inserts holds them in place and when tightened up, they do not vibrate loose. This is why they are all still on my machine today!. I will certainly be ordering more of these in the future as they really work and they do not rust.Just using these type nuts will save me from constantly buying new teeth.These easily earn a (5) star rating in my opinion

These seem to be well-made from quality materials.They come in a sturdy little plastic boxMuch less expensive than buying by the piece from the hardware store.

Nuts thread fit tight and hex is right. Nuts lock on bolts. As expected.

Deez nuts are the correct size. These nuts are the correct material and a good quntity and value for the money, way better than the local hardware store.

Build quality is there, the threads engage and hold with no loose fitting or excessive thread bearing. They snug up nicely and seat well. The material is high quality stainless steel and should hold up for a very long time. The nylon makes for a very snug grip on the screw - this isn't going anywhere!The case they come in is handy, but these go straight into a larger bin well for me.Works perfectRecommended!!

They fit, they're the right size, they are clean and not oddities with manufacturing nor burs.However, this pack came with less than the 100 nuts--I counted them twice; that's disappointing.

These 3/8"-16 stainless locknuts look good, work fine and come in a handy plastic box so they don't get loose in the bench drawer. What more can you say? Excellent!

These are great for a current repair project on an enclosed trailer. The fact that they are 304 Stainless Steel should prevent rust from forming as they are visible on outside of the trailer.
