I recently left a candle I loved burning. I only discovered it when the wax was all gone and the wick had completely burned away. So I set about recreating it. I got these wicks based on the reviews. I measured the candle container (3â€) and selected the wick for 3â€-3.25â€. I mixed the soy wax, scent (8% load), and coloring (green and a tiny amount of black to make it a bit more sage colored) and poured it in.After an hour or so it was solidified enough to remove the press and seal strips I used to keep the wick in place and light it. I recently threw away a different candle because the cheap wick kept sparking and spitting. So I was pleased that this wick lit easily, burned brightly, was a nice size for the 3†container, and burned smoothly.

Extremely annoying that these come pre-tabbed, I’d say most of the wicks are snapped bent and broken, the woven fiber holding the wax wick together at the base is often frayed and rubbed thin by the crimp in shipping. These need to be straightened out and shortened, and often recrimped anyway.This is the easiest fix ever, ship the wicks and the tabs and let the consumer just put the wick in and crimp themselves.
