This is a nice piece of 10x10x1/4-inch hot rolled low carbon steel plate (A36). The plate arrived wrapped in protective plastic wrap which was effective in preventing rust. There is minimal mill scale. The piece was flat, not warped.The plate comes with rounded corners which means that if you plan to use this whole piece as a base, or cover, or a grill, some of the machining work may be already done. However, if you plan to slice off pieces for projects the rounded corners could result in some waste. Drilling and welding the material can be done, especially if cutting oil is used for drilling and welding areas are prepped. It is not suitable for projects that require hardening.This is a nice piece of steel suitable for many projects.
