They seem to working but I did not like the fact that they were turned on in the box, all of them. How long were they on shelf running on the battery? How long it will last is to be determined.

As a grower, I have installed these in the lid of my Mason Jars. Let's me know if my stash has gotten too dry. Helps in monitoring the moisture in the drying room. The batteries are easily purchased online in bulk. Cheaper than going down to the local store.To modify the lid, trace out the shape of a meter., use a sharpie or pen. Then you can easily cut out a hole in a lid, the same size as one of these meters. Try not to cut outside the line. Mason Jar lids are easy to cut, they have very thin metal. Place the meter inside lid , adjust as necessary and then seal with Silicone glue along the SIDES ONLY, DO NOT block the 3 "vents" on the back. I just put a big glob of silicone on my finder and run it around the sides of the meter, gluing it to the lid.. Makes a nice strong seal. Let it dry well, like 2 days. Then, you have a handy stash jar with a built-in humidity and temperature meter. And if you accidently break the jar, save the lid for future use. Jars are easy to replace.

These don't come with the little plastic things to keep them from running, so by the time you get them 1/2 are dead and guessing the rest will does soon after.
