I like that there are both the analog and a binary TTL level outputs. The TTL is really a RTL output (resistor pull up) off of a LM393 comparator. Output goes high when magnet is near. It would have been helpful to have the inverted digital output as well, and it could have been done at very little cost since the LM393 has two comparators built in. add a fifth pin on output connector for the negative output and an additional pull-up resistor. maybe 3 cents! I am using 6 of these for end of travel sensors on a DIY CNC router, and I needed the negative logic signal. I cobbled together 3 inverter boards using LM393's to flip the bits. The south pole of the magnet faces the end of the board where the Hall sensor is located. North pole won't trip the sensor. A navigation type compass is helpful to determine poles on magnets. Operates on 5 volts. These work fine in my application. the vendor for my slides wanted $160 for just 4 sensors, so this was a great savings, even if I had to adapt a little. I will also be encapsulating these to provide some protection from accidental short circuits, ESD, and mechanical damage.

This product is falsely claiming to have an analog output. A0 is only another digital TTL low/high output. Very disappointed because I already had digital hall effect sensors and specifically got those for the analog output that is falsely advertised.

A0 is supposed to be an Analog DC Output that Varies in proportion to the Intensity of the Magnetic Field. These are nice little boards, BUT A0 DOES NOT VARY. BOTH * D0 * AND * A0 * ACT IDENTICAL: Magnetic Field Present, BOTH are under +0.2 VDC OUT. No Magnetic Field, BOTH are +5.0 VDC OUT.There is NO Air Gap where A0 Voltage Varies. It is either HIGH or LOW,with NO in-between, SO THE DESCRIPTION IN INACCURATE !!! - Donald -

For some applications they are too big. Many arrived bent, but easy to straighten out. I bend some over anyway to orient from end sometimes. Work flawlessly so far.

Just know that the boards use a digital hall sensor despite them having an 'analog out' pin. It's my fault for ordering them without checking the chip capabilities, but its pretty confusing.
