The L7912 of three-terminal negative regulators is available in TO-220 packages making it useful in a wide range of applications.Theseregulators can provide local on-card regulation, eliminating the distribution problems associated with single point regulation; they are particularly suited for split power supplies.

All 10 of these -12volt regulators were out of spec. Specs say absolute maximum -12.6V but these all tested between 12.7 and almost -13 volts with a calibrated Fluke 87V multimeter. Rejects like these should not be sold to unsuspecting customers. No more Bridgold components for me.
