Exactly wanted I needed for scroll work. Leaves a surface that is easy to smooth out with sandpaper. Great for small gaps.

The diamond finish should have been mentioned in the description. These are not grooved metal files.

I use these for fine detail work on almost every project. Removes wood quickly and smoothly. Would highly recommend for detail work.

These are not rasps. They do not have the teeth typical of rasps but are instead diamond coated which is significantly smoother.I bought a set of real needle type rasps from another vendor that are fairly aggressive and leave the wood pretty rough. These Salmue diamond coated needle files work very nicely to sand those rough scars out and make for a cleaner product. The two together is a nice combination.As a follow up I found that after a little bit of use the diamond coating wore off leaving just flat metal! not sure what I was expecting for such a small price but maybe not complete failure so quickly. Fortunately I got the immediate use I needed them for done before they started to disintegrate..
