My 7 year old is not a fan of enrichment activities-flash cards, workbooks, etc. He loves this set and wanted to continue making and writing out sentences even after his 10 minutes was over. The set is fun and well made.

This is a nice, quality, visual teaching tool for kids. It helps teach end of sentence punctuation, with understanding sentence structure, provides ideas for sentences, helps with hand writing, and so much more! It's a really fun and interactive board that my children like to use. For my children, it's kind of like mad libs, it's a rush to create a super silly sentence! It is enjoyable seeing sentences formed, as the sentences are correctly structured! There is so much learning that happens with each sentence in a fun way. Verbs, nouns, adjectives are color coded and while they used to be an "in the sky" conceptual knowledge, seeing them, visually, touching them (tactile learning) and adding them to the board makes it tangible. It also adds more understood, known knowledge to their skill set as the color coding helps categorize them. I always say, for instance, grab a noun, it's the squares that are blue! Then I ask which noun they chose and read it. I do it this way to re-enforce and seal in learning for each square. Each square has a magnet on back making them easy to manipulate and they stick well to magnetic surfaces! This is a high quality set and as long as you're not being extra rough with it, it's very durable. You get 2 dry erase markers to write your sentences with. I do wish they would have provided a rag because if you're doing a lot of sentences the little eraser at the top of the marker doesn't cut it. However, we just found our own and that was easy to sub in! I also feel like this has helped our kids who are dyslexic as there is so much visual and tactile learning happening and being applied! The product page states that these were designed as speech therapy tools as well. Another thing I like about this is a small portion of proceeds go towards "non-profit projects to support children across the globe"!

My niece is still a little too young to fully understand sentence structure, but we're working on it with this. They are nice magnets and you can even write on the blanks to make your own so it doesn't get stale. The color coding makes it easy to follow and it doesn't leave much residue from the dry erase markers. I thoroughly enjoy using it with her.
