Purchased these barrel nuts to replace the original ones on a 10 yr. old solid pine futon bed, the original nuts started breaking in half when I would slide it out whenever guess came. At first I declined to write a review because the new barrel nuts didn't fit the original screws from the futon, I thought I was sent the wrong size & was angry. After 9mos & more of the original nuts kept breaking I thought about looking for a smaller size screw for these new barrel nuts and to my amazement I found it was the threading of the old screws that was the problem (thinner). Every other screw in Home Depot fit the new barrel nuts. Problem solved!!! even had screws in my toolbox, no purchase necessary. New barrel nuts work great & ARE ALL METAL unlike the original ones on the futon.
