Screwed onto my gas line easily with no leaks. The rubber plug works great for keeping dirt and bugs out. I felt that it was priced nicely and seemed to be built well. I placed a shutoff valve just ahead of the fitting for added safety.I installed this fitting to attach my generator in case of power failures.

My sister bought a portable emergency generator that runs off natural gas. The plumber was installing the gas line but didn't have a source for a quick connect so I started searching on Amazon. I found this one and it worked perfectly for our application and meeting local code. This connection mounted after the outdoor shutoff valve and easily connects to the flexible gas line for the generator. When no flexible gas line is connected a bright yellow plug locks into the female opening to prevent spiders from getting inside. Sliding the locking collar allows the rubber plug to release and a portable flexible generator gas line (or BBQ) to easily connect. These seem like high quality fittings and they were installed without leaks at the threaded connections. They couple easily and get the job done. One little thing on my wish list: I don't understand why the female coupling has a dust plug, but the male fitting has no cap? If anything, it seems like the male end is much more susceptible infiltration...
