Nice geo-pick-hammer. Works well without too much wear and tear. Pick could be a little better shaped. The yellow handle which makes it easy to keep track of. Gloves are cheap ~$1.50 typical Chi-Com quality you can buy most anywhere. Glove color makes them easy not to loose, though you may want to use them around the house and get yourself a good quality leather pair to use in the field.

This is a very well balanced and sturdy tool for removing mortar from bricks to be reused. Buy this one.

1. Poor packaging, shipper used the included gloves to protect soft package from hammer pick end, pick caused hole in glove. Should have been shipped in box.2. Plastic handle was not injection molded correctly.3. One side of the steel pick hammer wasn't even polished, it was left as a bare casting.4. Due to lack of polishing, edges of pick are razor sharp, I ended up cutting my hand during opening of package.5. It is obvious the manufacturer has ZERO quality control, as the above problems are impossible NOT to notice.6. On close inspection of the unpolished steel section, it appears this is a simple cast iron piece, and not forged steel, so I am concerned it may well fracture when used.

This gets down in the hole and really loosens up the rocks for removal. Nice tool.Didn't get my free gloves though!

Got this for geode hunting. Handle grip feels good enough, weight feels okay, didn't realize that the handle steel went from 7/8" x 5/8" to 3/4" x 3/8" juuuust before the grip starts (approximate). "Drop forged" doesn't mean much when the dye is substandard: the handle has various small nicks, is uneven, and the finish is not the best. The grip is not finished well. But was it worth it for the laughable pair of gloves provided? NO. Spend more and get quality.
