I type a lot, but some of my best ideas and thoughts are written on pads of paper and then typed later. Recently I made a list of 80 things that needed to get done around the house while I was sitting comfortably in my recliner. Got over 40 things done already. Writing to do lists on pads of paper really works to keep you motivated on track.Other uses for these portable paper writing pads:Shopping lists for the grocery store...The beginning sentence for your new book...A note to someone in your home written while they were away...A note to yourself about something important to remember...Lists of things you need to buy...Writing a review while reading a book or watching a movie...Taking notes in class...Making a list of household chores...The paper itself is thick enough so you don't really see writing through it very much. Of course it depends on what type of pen you are using. I find it easy to write on both sides which saves paper.I'm very happy with these and the paper tears off cleanly from the pad too. The price is good. That is why I am giving it 3 stars, but I will not be buying these pads again whenever I get through them. The black strip on the top page is where you would traditionally expect the binding for the adhesion, but it is just a black strip on the top piece of paper. It's like a piece of tape that does act as the binding, which means that whole piece of paper cannot be removed without removing the binding for the whole pad. So then you are left with whatever note you wrote before realizing it cannot be removed.Every piece of paper you remove from the pad seems to weaken the binding/glue, so the pages are becoming looser and looser, and I imagine soon I'll just have single pieces of paper floating about.Only the front is lined. Traditionally I write on the front and back, and I will continue to do so but I miss the lines.The weight of the paper is fine for quick notes. It is not flimsy, and writing on it is a fine experience. I can't complain about that. It is really just the structure of the construction of the pad that annoys me, but it is enough that I won't buy another.
