This button replacement is adjustable I don't think it tells you thar in the description. You can take in out and put it in a different stop if nesscary. However because of this the backing on the button sticks out like 1/8th inch. So if you are sensitive to things touching your skin it might not be for you. I didn't notice the button touching my skin; however, I know some people might. This button is to fix pants but you could easily use it for jacket buttons or even shirts etc. And because it's removable you can adjust your clothes however you like to wear them. Strongly believe this is a good way to fix your clothes. Much cheaper then needing to go to a seamstress Good luck and have fun finding all the useful ways to use this.
