This kit worked great for restoring my very old 12's. I had no experience working on speakers in the past. However, I am mechanically inclined. That being said, I had no trouble at all installing this kit. It is holding up great to this day. It should be noted that If you have speakers that require this kit, you should not be surprised if they need another kit if you abuse them beyond their optimum performance specifications on a regular basis. In other words, if your rear view mirror keeps vibrating loose of the windshield, you should probably turn it down a touch before your speakers blow again...
