I had a lot of ceiling to paint - I really do not like painting ceilings - so I wanted to use an 18 inch roller to make the task easier. It really did make it easier. The nice thing about using rollers like this where the roller is held at both ends is that pressure is applied evenly across the entire roller. This applies an even coat of paint.I then started on the walls. Unfortunately, this roller frame broke while doing the last wall. The frame that holds the roller is really sturdy - no problem with that. The problem is the plastic handle that attaches to the pole. In this handle there is a metal stem that attaches to the sturdy roller frame. When new, this stem was firmly locked in place inside the plastic handle. It has now broken free allowing the entire roller frame to rotate around the handle. So, the roller frame is flopping around the pole. This makes the roller frame pretty useless. I was able to finish but it was like pushing on a rope. One minor design flaw - how the stem is held in place in the plastic handle (probably dependent on a little piece of plastic that broke off) destroys the entire product. Since the stem is embedded in the plastic handle, I don't see an easy way for me to modify the handle to hold it in place.

The way the handle attaches to the head is poor, it relies on the tightening of a nut to hold it in place. It will shift if not tight enough and knock the head off kilter. Mine also came with one of the roller axis loose in the box. I had to put it back in and hammer-fit it by expanding the metal. I have another bought on Amazon that has a groove where the handle fits to the head and its bomb-proof. Bottom line I will use it for my siding but I would not buy it again.

UPDATE,Plastic part which connects roller keeper to extension rod broke during painting of first room.It has a major design flaw on brackets holding the roller. The roller contacts the aluminum bracket and wears it out while making debris which transfers to roller and makes gray marks on wall. I added a plastic spacer between rollers and the bracket. Sturdiness is not acceptable and whole set tends to become loose frequently.

Serves it's purpose but they completely forgot to include the thing that allows the handle to attach not happy for this price

I liked that the roller paint roller covered more wall area and made the job go faster. But the design of the handle needs work. The metal rod that is attached inside the plastic handle stripped the inside, which then made the paint roller unstable and not remain at a horizontal position while painting. Did most of the painting by holding onto the plastic handle AND the metal bracket that held the roller itself in place. If the handle wasn't of poor design, I would definitely have given this product 5 stars.

I tried using it to apply a concrete paint coating and the little Neck broke on me. I had to buy something else. Might be good for regular wall paint.

The frame that holds the roller sticks out to where you can’t get tight to the wall. Difficult to use.
