It's got nothing to do with the parts itself but the actual physical removal and installation of the parts mentioned. Good value for the money.

This part never worked. Lead me to believe I needed a new oil pump in an Awd Chevy express van. Meaning the front differential had to be dropped to remove the oil pan. After the oil pump it was vvt sensor and crank & cam sensor (same circuit) in the process we found a lot of corrosion and a broken wire in the cam sensor harness. Repaired, still nothing. Van continued to shut down due to no oil pressure (although it’s full and the pump is new and primed. Figured I’d test the sensor myself, it’s got 5v no problem there. Maybe it’s the signal reference to the instrument panel. Applied voltage to signal wire. Oil pressure shoots right up. I removed old trash and installed new trash. Great product …. 😵â€ðŸ’«

While the actual installation of this sensor is somewhat a pain in the (rear, back, knuckles, legs, etc) I attribute this to some questionable engineering on GMs part. I cannot fathom why a serviceable part like a sensor would be located in such a way that you have to strip down a significant amount of the top part of the engine assembly to access. In any case, the part is a direct exchange fit with the OEM part. It was a nice add-on that there was already sealing tape on the threads. Once installed, the problem that manifested due to the failing sensor has completely disappeared. I can't speak yet to durability as the part has only been installed for a week, but as I have had this part addressed once before, I am assuming a life expectancy of the sensor to be about 5 years, so we'll see if this one makes it at least that long.
