I really enjoy having and using the Emstar brand combination drill/6-piece SAE (Society of Automotive Engineers) and 6-piece Metric drill/tap set. These bits/taps are especially helpful to have when doing household electrical work as these are the SAE sizes that are most commonly used as well as with appliances and other general items around the home. With the use of Metric fasteners found in imported items, this set will now definitely come in handy. What is totally unique about the set of drill/taps is the fact that the appropriate hex shank twist drill bit size is incorporated with the appropriate machine thread size tap with its countersink feature all in one unit for each bit thread size. It also comes with a male hex shank locking quick change connector attached to a hex opening female adapter for easy drilling and changing of the bit. Simply push to insert the drill/tap into the quick connector and simply pull back the connector collar to release the drill/tap. The 6 most common SAE sizes contained in this set are: 6-32 NC (Normally Course), 8-32 NC, 10-24 NC, 10-32 NC, 12-24 NC, 1/4-20 NC. The 6 most common Metric sizes contained in this set are: M3 x 0.5, M4 x 0.7, M5 x 0.8, M6 x 1.0, M8 x 1.25, M10 x 1.5. The entire 13-piece set comes in a hard plastic, clam shell type, piano hinged carry case that has two swivel bit holder strips to easily store and organize the drill/taps. Generally, while you won’t have a need to use these drill/tap bits every day, all in all, they are a great set of bits to have in your toolbox especially when you need to make a new machine treaded hole or to chase/clean a damaged machine threaded hole!

This is a great set of do-it-all bits that drill, tap, and countersink. The set includes a variety of common sizes and threads in a compact organized case. They drill/cut well for a cheap set of combination bits. I wouldn't expect the to hold up to mild/hard steel or harder stainless but they work great and should last for softer materials. I will throw these in my tool kit and expect to get quite a bit of use out of them because they are easy i.e. one bit does it all instead of trying to find a matching set of drill, tap, and countersink sized bits. Overall I would recommend these to friends with the cautious disclaimer that they are for soft materials. If you are working with thick or hard materials you will need to get a proper set of taps so that you don't seize and break one in the material.

This is a handy set of combined drill,taps and countersink which are housed in a good sturdy plastic case. The kit covers the following common thread sizes SAE and Metric sizes which are .....6-32, 8-32, 10-24, 10-32 , 12-24 , 1/4-20 . and metric M3 x 0.5, M4 x 0.7, M5 x 0.8, M6 x 1.0, M8 x 1.25, M10 x 1.5.I like the combined drill, tap and countersink function in one piece. I think they will do best on softer material. Harder materials may require a dedicated tap.The kit also includes a quick release drill holder. Pull back the collar and the drill bit is quickly released. That is a nice touch.
