I wish the optimal pilot hole diameter were listed somewhere, either in the product page or with the item itself.But, otherwise, these things work great. I used four of them to mount a small monitor (for my security cameras) on the inside of my network closet door. And I have plenty left over, for whatever project might arise in the future.

We have an older style travel trailer that has decorative valances over most of the windows on the inside. Seems like every time we would go on a trip I would open up the trailer to find that one or more of these valances had fallen off the wall. The 1/4 inch long tiny screws that the manufacturer had used to hold the valances in place just didn't do the job in the thin 1/8 inch lauan wood walls. Being a trailer, the walls are only about 1 1/4 inch thick, so I needed something that only went into the wall a short distance. I drilled out the holes with a 9/32" bit and inserted the anchor attached to the installation tool provided. I used a small power driver at very slow speed to get the anchor seated and then used some 4mm screws from HD to finish the job. Problem solved and I couldn't be happier! Highly recommended for this application.

I used there to attach a new door catch on my fiberglass wall RV. The original door latch was riveted to wall and had to drill out. Resized the holes to accepted jack nut and used hand tool provided to tighten. Tried first on a thin piece of scrap luan. If you over tighten it will pull through the material. Thus used the hand tool provided to install.

The product worked perfectly in a Vinyl fence. Tool worked great no issue of stripping. As with things sometimes being careful goes a long way in using this tool. Found 10-24 screws at the local hardware store and they fit perfect.
