I use this to power a tablet for an off road app while trail riding on my RZR XP Turbo. It plugs into my 12v "cigarette" lighter power port, then I just plug a single 120volt plug into it and my power worries are all gone! Very rugged design to.

Pro: Feels sturdy, built tough.Cons: You won't be able to run a lot of 120V AC equipment with this. I would be hesitant to plug anything expensive into this inverter because of how poor its output performs. For starters, it is a pure square wave output inverter ( see photographs for comparison between a normal 120VAC 60Hz North America wall outlet and this Dewalt inverter output. Yellow sine trace = 120VAC wall outlet, yellow square trace = this Dewalt inverter output, pink trace is original 120V overlayed for comparison) Certain types of equipment equipment that's trying to detect +/- 170V peaks ( a normal 120V AC outlet peaks at -170V and +170V ) will not register that it is actually plugged into the wall or anything. The RMS voltage of this square wave output is also low and hovers between 70-85Vrms. A lot of older equipment that expects a sine wave, or something close to a sine wave, may also not work, or work intermittently. The sharp edges between 'high' and 'low' voltages on this pure square wave output may saturate, damage, or destroy certain transformers, it is really a gamble.I started on this review during a debug session because I could not get my 100W ozone generator to work inside any vehicle, trying to use this inverter during a car detailing and deodorization. My 120V equipment will not even turn on. What a shame.

It works as described. I purchased mine "used like new" at a discounted price. It did have an odor similar to that of electronics getting hot or burning, but the unit itself never really got hot when I used it to run a vornado fan. Other than the odor it seems to be fine. Maybe over time I'll see if I got "burned" buying "used like new".

Works great. I use-it to plug the few items I don't have 12 volt from my Kalipak battery pack. I tried a few other cheap small inverter but end-up spending a few more dollar and I' sticking with this one. You can see the quality is great. Absolutely silent. No fan, does not overheat as long as you stick to the rated capacity. From the 6 I've tried, this is by far the best and that's the one I'm keeping. Buy it.
