1st order was very disappointing -no box holding the reamers & 3 of the reamers were bent. Replacement was perfectly fine, hence the 4 stars but not 5. 3rd picture is the replacement set, now I have to send back the 1st one with no box & 3 bent reamers.

As it said in the title, I don't do metal machining as my occupation, but I do engage in a lot of custom fabrication to meet my own needs and sensibilities. I've had reamers like this in the past, bought in a couple of sizes along with the matching bit. Those four pieces (2 reamers/2 drills) cost me almost exactly the price of this set of 14. Their application to cleaning up the bottom of blind holes in metal is well known. They work great for that, and providing a perfectly concentric hole in which to run a tap.My primary use is a bit different. I use them to create precise holes for wood joinery. Not for free dowels, but drive together post and hole (sort of like half dovetails). Drills won't form precise holes, router bits can burn, but these are just right if done in very hard woods like ebony and cocobolo. Lignum Vitae, waxy and extremely dense at the same time, mills beautifully. You've got to keep your speed down, and workpiece fully locked into position, but the end result is spectacular (in my humble opinion). So not inexpensive, but if if your approach to wood and metal working runs to the meticulous, the cost of these is quite reasonable.

I have several special purpose reamers that I've picked up over the years but not a set with common sizes. I think these are essentially good tools, but they are shipped in such a way that they will inevitably cause them to bang together in handling. That happened to my set in shipping. Two or three of the reamers were out of place when I opened the box and upon closer inspection I could see that the bumping together had caused dull spots and raised burrs on a couple of the cutting edges. It think I can sharpen that out, but I don't think that is something that I should have to do on a new cutting tool.My advice would be to skip the fancy wooden box and just ship these in individual plastic storage tubes.I really want to like these but I'm not sure I trust them to cut a clean, true hole at this point. I'll have to make some test cuts and check them with gage pins before I trust them.Overall, I probably would not get buy these again, just because of the amount of work it will take to make them usable.

The reamers themselves are pretty standard quality and should handle most work you throw at them. However a thing about reamers is they need to be stored in a manner that the flutes don’t rattle together. This causes chipping and nicking ruining a reamer. The case that these were sent in is about only good for burning. It is almost like they made the box from balsa wood. The flat panels disband from the edges and the dividers to keep the reamers in place don’t do their job. I have not fixed this yet as I have been busy but I plan on putting them into a box that will accomplish the job of keeping them stored, organized and safe. Its not hard to make a box that would do the job properly, and its really an indication of the maker not caring.

All the sizes stated are included in the set and are about as well made as you should expect from a HSS set of reamers. These are NOT as accurate as advertised. Measuring with a pair of Mitutoyo calipers I measured them to be +-.001 at best for advertised sizes. I have not needed to run them in a machine yet so I can't say how well they do in use or for any run out, but I don't expect much from them. The case certainly leaves a lot to be desired but is standard for most tools like this. I am mostly glad they didn't come in plastic sleeves tossed in a bag. Rather expensive for how accurate they are. maybe get these to be beat up, practice using reamers, for students, or something of that nature. If you really need a reamer, buy a single high quality tool, not these.

These are very complete set of chucking reamers. They appear to be sharp and well made. They arrived in a wooden storage box. My biggest complaint of this tool set is the box itself. When I first opened the box the reamers were banging around, loose in the wooden case. They were not held in place properly. The box is deeper than it needs to be to hold these in place, and the rack they sit in two soft of material and easily distorts, allowing the reamers to move side to side and bump into each other. That's a good way to chip and dull the sharp cutting edges. The reamers are of varying lengths, but there is no block to keep the shorter reamers from sliding up and down in the rack. Most of them had slid completely out of their position and were rolling around, loose. particularly the shorter narrower ones. It would have been nice to be able to use the wooden case as permanent storage for them, but the moment you tilt the box ,even when closed the reamers are going to fall out of place and bang into each other. Because the box is so deep, there is not enough pressure on the individual reamers to hold them in place . I will probably modify the box so that I can use it for storage in my tool chest. It's a shame they couldn't put more effort into protecting these nice tools .

With 29 pieces ranging from 1/16†to 1/2†in 1/64†increments, this set meets all my reaming needs. The High-Speed Steel (HSS M2) material ensures durability and longevity. Its straight flute design and right-hand cut contribute to smooth operations. Plus, the tight tolerance of +0.0002†to -0.0000†guarantees precise results. Whether for a DIY enthusiast or a professional machinist, this set is worth every penny and comes highly recommended for anyone seeking precision in their work. The case provided doesn’t secure the bits well, so after sorting the jumbled mess, I added thicker cushioning to hold everything in place securely.

Overall this is a great little set to have around the house. The bits are well made and seem very tough. The only thing that is a little annoying is that every time you go to move the case, if it’s tilted at all the bits all fall out of their slots. Now they do stay in the case, it’s just frustrating to rearrange them or go searching for the right size when they’re strewn everywhere.I definitely recommend this product.

For the money, this kit is a complete set of HSS reamers, sharp, and well made. Time will tell how long they last, but definitely appears durable - for many jobs. All the bits come in a nice wooden box. The box looks nice but is made of light wood, meant just as a storage case - away from other heavy equipment. As can be seen in my pictures, foam inserts are present to keep the bits from moving around, however, because of the gaps in-between, the bits will move and dislodged inside the box during transportation or if the box is kept in a vertical position.Storing the box in a horizontal (flat) position is ideal.Overall, good value.
