Works well but there is about 1.5hrs to heat our bathtub. Be patient and plan ahead. Read the directions and follow them for safety using.

Used it in an outdoor boiler for 4 days to keep from freezing. Had it set at 110, it ran at 145..? Wasn’t a real problem as I didn’t worry about it freezing, but not sure why it was so inaccurate!

The 1500W Titanium Fully Submersible Portable Electric Immersion Water Heater is a versatile device designed to heat both tap and saltwater for various purposes. My primary need is to prevent water in a 55-gallon tank from freezing for my chickens. Although I haven’t yet used it for its intended purpose, I conducted a test to evaluate its performance.---**Testing Procedure:**1. **Setup and Initial Measurements:** - I used a 5-gallon bucket filled with approximately 4.5 gallons of water. - The heater was connected to the intelligent controller, which was initially turned off. - Initial water temperature readings: - Controller’s thermostat: 53°F - Infrared (IR) thermometer: 49°F - After stirring to stabilize the water, the temperatures fluctuated slightly but remained consistent.2. **Heating Test:** - I set the controller to 73°F (a 20°F increase) and started a timer. - Visible heat ripples indicated the heater was working, but it took 26.5 minutes to reach the target temperature.3. **Temperature Measurements During Heating:** - The water at the surface heated faster than the probe near the bottom. - Additional readings were taken: - Cooking thermometer at the surface: 114°F - IR thermometer at the side of the bucket: 114.5°F - IR thermometer at the water's surface: 120.5°F4. **Post-Heating Observations:** - The controller shut off at the set temperature of 73°F. - After stirring the water with the immersion heater to eliminate stratification, the probe reading increased to 116°F, confirmed by the other thermometers within a 1.5°F margin.---**Performance Evaluation:**- **Effectiveness**: The heater effectively raised the water temperature, but the significant stratification during heating highlighted the importance of circulation for even heat distribution.- **Accuracy of Controller**: The controller's probe underestimates the water's temperature, particularly at the surface, likely due to its placement near the bottom. Surface and surrounding temperatures were significantly higher than the controller reading.- **Heating Time**: While effective, the heater requires considerable time to raise the water temperature, especially in larger quantities.- **Safety Considerations**: The instructions emphasize keeping the heater fully submerged and avoiding direct contact during operation to prevent burns.---**Conclusion:**The 1500W Titanium Immersion Heater is effective at heating water, but users should account for:- Stratification: Ensure water circulation to achieve uniform heating, especially for larger volumes.- Controller Accuracy: Be mindful of the placement of the temperature probe, as readings may not reflect the true temperature of all areas in the container. For my needs, this heater appears suitable for keeping water in a 55-gallon tank from freezing, provided I implement proper circulation to ensure consistent temperatures. Overall, it's a functional and reliable device when used with these considerations in mind.

I got this to heat larger containers of water in my shop. The shop sets at the back edge of the property and is not equipped with running water. I frequently use warm or hot water to clean up or to get grime off of something I am trying to repair. It has always been a hassle to walk to the house, fill a container with hot water, and walk back to the shop without spilling a bunch (inside or out of the house). This immersion heater looked like just what I need to deal with the hot water issue. It worked like a charm! I dropped it into a relatively small container, 3.5 gallons, and turned the heater on. The water was 46 degrees Fahrenheit. In a little over 10 minutes, it was at 100 degrees. That works great for me. No trudging trips to the house and the whole process is wonderfully simple. It will clearly do for me exactly what I want from it. How often do you get that in life?Everything seems solid, the instructions are clear and simple, the temperature readout is nice and large and easy to read. And once it’s done the whole device and cord pack into a small space (I use a canvas bag). There is one minor complaint. The little bit of styrofoam that is supposed to float the temperature sensor doesn’t stay put (the cord tends to slide through it). A small clip to hold it in place would be good.As a whole, I’m very satisfied with this heater. Others will give you some great scientific data that will be especially useful to those who have larger, more serious uses in mind. But at my level, this thing is great!I heartily recommend it.When you bring electricity to water, exercise caution! Stay safe!

The heater element is awesome and I’m using it with my own controller. The controller that comes with this unit has a 3 degree range before it kicks back on so if you have it set to 77 the water needs to drop to 74 before it kicks back on. That’s too big of a range for coral and a reef tank

I was looking for a reliable and efficient way to heat my 55-gallon freshwater tank, and this submersible immersion heater did not disappoint. Right out of the box, it was clear that this heater was well-designed for both function and ease of use.The first test? Seeing how quickly it could bring my tank to 78°F. I was shocked—it reached the target temperature in under 30 minutes! That’s impressive for a tank of this size, and the heater maintained a steady and consistent temperature afterward.Setup was a breeze thanks to the included suction cups, which offer multiple positioning options. As long as the unit is fully submerged, you can place it vertically, horizontally, or at an angle—whatever works best for your tank’s layout. It was also easy to hide, even with minimal decorations, keeping the tank looking clean and natural. The LCD display is bright and easy to read, so I always know the water temperature at a glance. The controls are intuitive, making adjustments quick and hassle-free. No fumbling with complicated settings—just set it and forget it.For the price point, this heater is an absolute winner. It heats quickly, maintains temperature well, installs easily, and blends into the tank effortlessly. If you're looking for a dependable and budget-friendly heater for a larger freshwater tank, this one is a solid choice.

Warmed 17 Gallons of water to 130 degrees in about 30 minutes so I was impressed. Unfortunately, even though it was set to 130, continued to 138 before I unplugged it. Good heater, bad thermostatic control.
