Software installation is somewhat quirky. When viewing the channels it's a little hard to navigate and figure out. Documentation is lacking with barely a description of some of the features be prepared to spend hours trying to figure everything out . That's the bad, now the good. For the money its no doubt the best dvr on Amazon. I tried 2 other brands and returned them both , this one is the winner !

Well it was quick to set up. It connected to my existing cameras. I like that the Dvr has a low profile on our TV console. So far it's easy to operate.

I purchased this 16 ch DVR to replace a Wisenet DVR that had failed. It did not work with my existing Wisenet cameras, and finally failed to output video to my screen. Sannce, like most Chinese companies has totally worthless customer service. They communicate only by email with a minimum one day delay, and are technically incompetent. I asked what cameras are compatible and they refused or didn’t know which are. They finally suggested that I disassemble to DVR, remove the hard drive and shake it to see if it rattled. Really? Do not buy this junk

Just go and get a good darn dvr.This crazy crap...if you need a hardware buy but if you need a unit buy somthing better...easy navigating.compatibility with many HD cameras..dvr can't handle the channels it have. Will show black and white on a few that a simple lorex or night Owl shows clear and colored...thisnis just for a hard drive I'd say.im an installer by profession and this wS a back up item to a failing unit.but I finally paid double for a different unit and very pleased.The customer service is by email only weekdays until.The unit will also not allow you to reboot with the requested info provided..not happy but it is what it is....2 star for the time I used it.hard drive held up that came with it tho.but unit is just a fever.

I am extremely experienced with security camera systems. Be careful. 1.) The app for remote viewing is flakey. The app is a knock off of the xmeye app. You can use xmeye, xmeye pro, goodeye apps. 2.) The dvr's firmware has taken away some of the features from previous firmware other manufacturers have in their dvrs. 3.) When setting up your password retrieval. DONOT give your personal information in the asked questions. 4.) Big security issue. If you have the dvr networked to multiple household devices. You'll conflict with each other. If you remote log in and someone else logs in remotely. You two will clash over the viewing. Playback, etc. To accomplish remote viewing and playback. Only one person needs to remote in. Just be careful.
