Size
Use method A
The ladder is directly linked to the railings, iron windows and other fixed objects through the safety hook and the double loops that come with the ladder head itself.
Use method B
If the railing or iron window is too thick, so the hook cannot be hung directly, you can first connect the hook to the double loop that comes with the head of the ladder, then go around the pole as shown in the figure, and then hook it back to the ladder rope
Use method C
If you need to fix it on a particularly thick beam, column or railing, you can use the safety hook to connect the double rings that come with the ladder head, and then insert the ladder into the beam and column at an angle of 90° section. For details, please refer to the illustration
Use method D
The best fixing method is to use the self-provided fixing belt loop or short rope to go around the beam column and become the link point of the ladder hook

I have not used for emergency fire escape from 2nd floor porch but if we ever have to or if we decide to test after Halloween I will update. We are using for our skeletons to “sneak out†from upstairs porch but the ladder seems safe and sturdy. I wrapped the top part around our banister and then clipped with the attached silver clips. It seems to be okay but I feel would need to see about weight of a person climbing down.

This is definitely a rope latter so it takes more strength to use. In the case of an emergency might not be the best option but I love mine to get up and down my aerial apparatus

I bought this ladder for my brother who lives in a 2nd floor condo. He has a balcony to which he can easily attach the escape ladder with one click. Ladder can also be secured to any immovable object in the room from which you need to escape. It is very reasonably priced and is made of high quality material.

Good product, durable and sturdy. I actually use it to help me get into my attic, since the ladder is not tall enough. I connected it behind a beam.

I am an aerial artist and cannot use this ladder because I am too short. The rungs are so far apart, its impossible to climb up or down. I am 5' so anyone my height or less will not be able to use this ladder.

It allows for a great safe way to exit upstairs in case of an emergency. Easily drops and picks up from my balcony connects to railing easily.

I put this escape ladder on my balcony but inside a duffle bag. I looked at it recently and the nylon lines have "powder" on them, as if the nylon is slowly deteriorating. The ladder has been out there a year, but I have nylon ropes on my dock that do better than this in full sun. i hope the ladder doesn't tear if I have to make an emergency exit.
