Secondary Air Injection Pump
The secondary air injection pump (also referred to as a smog pump or SAI pump) is responsible for lowering the number of carbon emissions that come out of the tailpipe of a vehicle. It lies after the exhaust manifold and before the catalytic converter of the vehicle, can reduce carbon emissions and hydrocarbon pollutants by pumping fresh air from outside into the exhaust stream so unburned fuel can be burned.
Secondary Air Injection Pump failures are almost always caused by corrosion that derives from water or moisture in exhaust gas that finds its way into the pump enclosure. If there is ever a problem, more hydrocarbon pollutants will be in the fumes which come out of your tailpipe. Check Engine Light, failed emissions test, weak acceleration, engine stalling, low idle are all the aymptom of a bad air pump. If you meet one of it, it's time to replace it!

These air pumps were exact replacements for the defective pumps on my 4.6L 2010 Tundra. Not a hard job but not that easy either. They mount inside of the right front inner fender and it is not so fun to get to. These new pumps fit perfectly into the mounting frame the old pumps came out of. So no adjusting for dimension errors. The old pickup tubing and supply tubing fits these pumps exactly as they are supposed to. They satisfied the computer and my truck no longer has the check engine light. The reason I gave 4-stars is the air pumps are a little louder than my originals. Not much, but a little.

This does not fit a 2013 Toyota Tundra. Past the time to return. Can this be exchanged for the correct part?
